Multiple Payment Option

Most of the membership sales letters I have come a cross do not have only one payment option but two. The choices given to people to pay for their subscription are either a on- off payment or settling the payment through several installments. Sometimes they may be offered an even higher level of membership e.g. gold or platinum memberships. This is a bad idea simple and clear. It best to only offer a single payment option for your site. In case you feel that there is need to offer another option then sent that in a completely different letter but no the sales letter.

Here are my reasons for this; most f the people run very long payment by installment plans, say $1000 membership fee paid in installments of $50. The clients who opt for this are going o have to be hassled to complete payment since they can hardly afford it. These clients are therefore the ones who will least participate in the membership site. This I the sad truth. The same also applies for the trial members.

Somebody on trial membership is highly unlikely to pay the full membership fee since they in the first place did not even want to be registered but had to be coerced by the trial membership you offered. This means that most people who opt for long payment or trial membership took a lot of convincing to join and it would even be harder for them to complete the payment.

“The undecided mind never buys” is an old adage that holds true. When you have gold and a platinum button on the subscription registration page, a site visitor will take a lot of time browsing through both of them trying to figure out the different features offered and therefore make a decision o what membership plan to follow. Incase of a distraction or even from the confusion, such a person is likely to leave your site before making a decision and may never come back again.

The best thing to do is to first get them into the membership immediately and start up selling them gradually. If a client needs someone or any kind of extra products or additional coaching, an extra button for this placed in the site will be convenient for such purposes. Your main focus should be to get them in any kind of membership site. Don’t concentrate on doing everything at once. Get the buyer first then arrange for the up selling later. Avoid dealing with long membership payment through installment plans, trial payment, or multiple payment level buttons on your page since all this will only serve to confuse potential subscribers.

Keep everything as simple as can be done. Don’t fall into the multiple payment temptation, provide just a singe button in your sales letter whether or not it is a membership site. Robert plank can help you get your membership site up and running at: http://www.membershipcube.com
